Innovation through experience.

Our original roots have passed down a passion for wood as part of our heritage.
While today our heart beats to the driving rhythm of a leading industrial operation, we still know the true value of craftsmanship.
Our employees are the guarantors of quality and innovation.

Our powerful machinery and additional production capacities at Formaplan Komponenty in Poland make us strong, independent, flexible, and cost-effective when it comes to handling both large and small production runs.

This is what we stand for.

Formaplan is a medium-sized family business deeply rooted in its home region, with products distributed both nationally and internationally.

  • Sustainability

We stand for sustainable thinking and action for the benefit of people and nature. Since 2008, we have been operating a wood-fired power plant that generates both heat and electricity, efficiently supplying our company. In addition, we operate a photovoltaic system for sustainable power generation.

The surplus energy from both systems is fed into the local grid, contributing to environmentally friendly energy supply in the surrounding area.

We are also certified according to ISO 50001:2018, highlighting our commitment to efficient energy management and a resource-conscious future.

  • Company values

We foster an open, non-discriminatory culture toward all people, regardless of origin, religion, or orientation. Mutual respect, fairness, and trust shape our daily interactions and extend beyond the workplace.

The passion, motivation, entrepreneurial spirit, and qualifications of our employees—as well as their identification with our company and our family-oriented corporate culture—are the most important factors behind our success.

The management.

Together with our dedicated employees, we have overcome the crises of the industry to this day. Thanks to entrepreneurial spirit and innovation, we continue to grow steadily and successfully seize the opportunities the market offers us.

  • Rolf Henrichsmeyer

Managing Partner in the 3rd generation

    Since 2002 at formaplan

"It is an incredibly enjoyable experience for me to lead our family business in the third generation and drive its continued development. Not to be forgotten is our connection to the region and the place where I grew up, and from which many of our employees – even across generations – come."

  • Jörg Großestrangmann

    Technical Managing Director

    Since 2006 at formaplan

"My personal motivation is to constantly set new standards in our core competencies. It gives me great pleasure to work with an excellent team to optimize existing processes and make them future-proof."

  • Stefan Bokel

    Commercial Managing Director

Since 2013 at formaplan / Since 2025 Managing Director

"The challenge of leading a medium-sized company in an international environment and continuously developing it excites me. I face this task together with an excellent team of experienced and young employees."

Think about tomorrow today.

Photovoltaic system

A photovoltaic system with a capacity of 1.2 MW peak has been on the roof of our loading hall since 2022. This saves approximately 500 tons of CO2 annually.

Together with the biomass power plant, this generates the electricity for the company.

01 / 09

Biomass power plant.

The biomass power plant generates energy from particleboard waste. Every hour, 2 tons of wood are converted into 6,500 kW of thermal energy and 1,250 kW of electrical energy. This produces heat and electricity for the company's own needs, and surplus electricity is fed to the local grid operator.

A district heating network has been built in Hövelhof to utilize the excess heat. This network already supplies public buildings such as the new swimming pool, the shooting and community hall, as well as commercial customers and private households. In the future, it will also supply the school center with heat.

02 / 09

LED lighting

With the current LED lighting, over 18,500 m² of hall space have already been equipped. The lighting systems have a lower energy consumption, are more durable, and provide comparable or better light quality than other types of lighting. Recyclable materials are used in manufacturing, and harmful substances are avoided. Combined with our Dali light control system, electricity consumption in the areas has been reduced by 80%. Our energy management is regularly reviewed and is ISO 50001:2018 certified.

03 / 09

Robot assistance

Robot assistance in workplaces is indispensable in a modern company. Physically demanding and tiring tasks are supported through automation. Currently, around 60 robots are actively assisting at the workplaces.

04 / 09

Material handling vehicles (forklifts)

Material handling vehicles (forklifts) are essential in a company with a long history. Whether for loading or unloading, or supplying individual workstations – over 40 electric forklifts (2, 3, and 4 tons) ensure smooth operations. The large 8-ton forklifts are being converted from diesel to HVO100 – a renewable alternative.

05 / 09

Wildflower meadow

A wildflower meadow was proposed by an employee as part of the company's continuous improvement process. The suggestion was implemented on an area of approximately 200 m² and now attracts many beneficial insects.

06 / 09

Heat recovery

Heat recovery at our company means that waste heat, for example from air compressors and refrigeration dryers, is not simply released into the air but is used to heat nearby hall areas. Innovative ideas contribute to resource conservation.

07 / 09

Public transportation

Formaplan is a partner in the "Ways2work" project. Since January 6, 2025, a shuttle bus connects Paderborn via the Hövelhof train station to the northern industrial area. The Formaplan bus stop allows for convenient boarding and alighting. The stop also serves as a stop for the bus connection from Gütersloh. From the stop at the train station, the major cities of Bielefeld and Paderborn can be reached by train.

08 / 09

Electric vehicles

Not only within the company, but electric mobility is also being prioritized. The company fleet is gradually being converted to electric vehicles.
